Website - create your own website.

1. You will need to register and purchase a domain name, e.g., at www.GoDaddy.com.
2. You will need to host your domain on a server, e.g., using www.web.com
3. You will need “web development” software, e.g., Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Microsoft offers a free service to manage of this (however, read the fine print); it is called Microsoft Office Live Basics and online at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officellive/default.aspx

Blog - online journal/diary which eliminates the need for technical know-how.

Many free blog services exist. GoDaddy.com offers a free blogging service with each domain name registration and purchase. There are free blogging services that do not require purchase or registration of a domain name, e.g. www.Blogger.com or www.LiveJournal.com.
